Site maintenance continued through the weekend

Sorry but maintenance continued through the weekend.

We have been updating the secondary database and kept trying to do a seamless switch-over. But the upgrade to the database was so major that the new database could not easily pickup the data changes that were happening on the live website. This means anything that was updated during the 10 hours or so during the update process kept getting lost.

The only solution left was to close the website while making a fresh backup and restoring that entire backup to the new database.

The website is now running on the new database and everything appears to be working correctly.
